Notes from the Editor

As many of you are aware, the Motor City is going through some really challenging times. Having grown up in the Detroit area, my life and my company are here. I only hope my kids will be able to see the city turn around in their lifetime.

With Chrysler coming out of bankruptcy last month and GM just emerging from bankruptcy proceeding, two of the big three have the opportunity to make a new name for themselves. Ford and GM recently added owner loyalty programs and Chrysler will be soon to follow. The big three must turn their focus to taking care of their existing customers or these challenging times will have been for naught.

Turn Declined Service into $$$

Many of our stores have been using their Punch-A-Deal® or Loyalty Rewards™ cards as carrot to motivate their customers that have declined or are about to decline service on their vehicles. Here's what you do...
When one of your customers declines service, offer then an extra "punch" or some bonus points as an incentive to take care of their maintenance today. For example, by giving an extra 500 points on their reward card (could be good for a FREE oil change) you have ZERO cost today. Your customer can then choose to use these points at a future visit. Each time they visit your store, you have another chance to get them to test drive a new car or another chance to up-sell them additional service!
